The commercial side of construction requires careful attention to quantities, costs, contracts, and changes to the original scope. People undertaking quantity surveyor training can learn how these areas contribute to effective cost management. This knowledge can be useful across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Communication skills are also important because quantity surveyors regularly work with different project stakeholders.
